HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)

Income Tax Self Assessment

We designed and implemented a suite of APIs to efficiently manage tax returns, payments and customer accounts for HMRC’s Income Tax Self-Assessment system. Ensuring high performance, security and reliability, we conducted thorough unit and integration testing throughout the development lifecycle.

In addition to development, we spearheaded the automation of deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines, significantly improving deployment speed and reducing manual intervention. We actively participated in live support, troubleshooting complex incidents and maintaining system stability.

We embraced Agile methodologies, leading sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement and timely, high-quality releases. Alongside project delivery, we mentored junior developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions, fostering a culture of professional growth and technical excellence across the team.

Bank of England

Real-Time Gross Settlement

We designed and developed a desktop-based platform to initiate and monitor Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions, creating intuitive, user-friendly interfaces using React and Angular. This platform enabled seamless access and management of transaction details for bank employees, enhancing operational efficiency.

We also built and maintained a real-time dashboard that provided live updates on ongoing RTGS transactions, delivering accurate, actionable information to stakeholders. Throughout the project, we collaborated closely with developers, system engineers, and financial services professionals to integrate various system components, ensuring smooth data flow and reliable functionality.

 

In addition to development, we conducted thorough testing and debugging, proactively resolving issues to maintain system performance and user satisfaction. We also contributed to technical documentation and led knowledge-sharing sessions to foster best practices and support continuous team improvement.

National Power PLC (Npower)

Box Billing

We delivered tailored software solutions for utility companies, transforming their billing and customer care operations. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, we developed features that significantly improved user experience and operational efficiency. Our efforts focused on optimizing gas and electricity invoice statement processes, implementing new functionality, and enhancing existing applications to ensure accurate, timely billing. We also refined internal workflows, reducing manual intervention and boosting overall system reliability through extensive JUnit testing and early bug detection. Additionally, we supported team growth by mentoring new developers and promoting best practices through code reviews and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)

Registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals

We designed, developed and executed comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure the robustness, functionality, and performance of APIs for DEFRA. Using tools such as Java, Postman, and WireMock, we thoroughly validated API endpoints to maintain high standards of quality.

 

In addition to development, we played an active role in live support, conducting detailed incident analysis and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system stability. We automated and streamlined code deployments by leveraging CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, significantly improving deployment efficiency and minimizing downtime.

Throughout the project, we successfully developed, tested, and released multiple APIs into production, implementing rigorous QA procedures and performance benchmarks. Close coordination with stakeholders ensured that all delivered solutions aligned with business requirements and were fully prepared for end-user deployment.

We actively contributed across all phases of the project lifecycle for PwC, including requirement gathering, development, deployment, and ongoing software support, ensuring successful project execution by adhering to strict timelines and quality standards.

We maintained continuous client communication to define project scope, allocate resources effectively and ensure alignment with evolving business objectives. Through daily discussions with customers, we gathered and documented feature requirements, collaborating closely with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver high-value functionality.
